I do not consider myself a poet
but poetry I write
It is a way of evacuating
the emotions of the past that follow me into the smallest spaces
at the same time as
I want to hold on to them like a man clenching to a branch bending over a precipice
Poetry is a way of saying things
that one would never do in polite company
but that have nonetheless to be said.
It is a way of explaining missteps
without getting too clinical
It is a way of professing love
without having to be too confessional.
And maybe It is a way of seeking a new life
without having to sign a document.
