If You Knew Your Mind

Marilyn Monroe, painting by Mariana Seven,  in the bar “7”, Malaga

If you knew your mind
you might find
a love greater than you have ever known
a story that will never make you feel alone

a person to stay with.

Come to me when you next feel despair
come to me when you do not know where

come to me when you seek a strong arm

come to me as you flee from harm

I am drawn to damsels in distress.

I am a receptacle for feelings
that have lost their bearings
that are without direction
but whose intention

is to break free.
